Kathy Y. Times, Emmy-Award-Winning Storyteller
Kathy Y. Times is an Emmy-award-winning storyteller, president of Yellow Brick Media Concepts public relations, and founder of KathyTimesWOW, a personal and professional development program. With more than 20 years of anchoring and reporting in TV news, she has delivered more than 40,000 stories. Kathy started her public relations company in 2011 and took a leave of absence in 2016 to serve as Florida A&M University’s (FAMU) chief communications officer until January 2020. Responsible for reputation management, she led a team that helped create compelling and award-winning campaigns that increased student enrollment and elevated the university’s standing as a #1-ranked university by U.S. News & World Report. Kathy understands what it takes to build visibility and credibility when leadership is under scrutiny. As a former president and CEO of a national journalism organization, she knows the discipline required to campaign for a national office, strengthen a personal brand, and serve as the public voice for thousands of members. Kathy has developed communication strategies for presidents, senior executives, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs when reputation and influence matter most.
She earned two undergraduate degrees from Florida A&M University and a master's degree from Northwestern University. She is a certified Myers-Briggs practitioner.
